Some low-valent cobaltphosphine complexes such as tetrakis(trimethylphosphine)cobalt(0) (82) are used in stoichiometric or catalytic amounts as efficient mediators for one-pot Reformatsky-type reactions of halogen derivatives and α-halo phosphonates with carbonyl compounds.[‌218‌‌221‌] The same cobalt complexes also proved effective in promoting Aldol-type reactions of α-halo ketones with carbonyl compounds.[‌222‌]
