Tetrakis(dimethylamido)titanium(IV) reacts exothermally when treated with an excess of cyclopentadiene to give tris(dimethylamido)(η5-cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) (82, R1 = Me) (Scheme 38).[185] The alkoxy complexes [TiCp*(Ot-Bu)3],[184] [Ti(η5-MeC5H4)(OEt)3],[184] and [Ti(η5-Ind)(OBu)3] (Ind = indenyl)[186] are also synthesized from the corresponding tetraalkoxytitanium(IV) complexes by this method.
