The divalent titanium complexes prepared from [Ti(OiPr)4] or [TiCl(OiPr)3] and 2 equivalents of isopropylmagnesium bromide with propargyl alcohol derivatives give titanium–propargyl complexes 146 or titanium–allenyl complexes 147 (Scheme 74).[282] This method is practical for the preparation of a variety of propargyl- or allenyltitanium complexes. Like allyltitanium complex 144 (Scheme 71, Section 2.10.7.5), complexes 148 prepared from 1-(alk-1-ynyl)cyclopropyl carbonates react with aldehydes at the less-substituted carbon (Scheme 74).[278]
