2.10.7.7 Method 7: Bis(isopropoxy)titanium(IV)–Propargyl or –Allenyl Complexes by Reaction of Low-Valent Titanium Complexes with Propargyl Halides, Acetates, Carbonates, Phosphates, or Sulfonates

The divalent titanium complexes prepared from [Ti(OiPr)4] or [TiCl(OiPr)3] and 2 equivalents of isopropylmagnesium bromide with propargyl alcohol derivatives give titaniumpropargyl complexes 146 or titaniumallenyl complexes 147 (Scheme 74).[‌282‌] This method is practical for the preparation of a variety of propargyl- or allenyltitanium complexes. Like allyltitanium complex 144 (Scheme 71, Section 2.10.7.5), complexes 148 prepared from 1-(alk-1-ynyl)cyclopropyl carbonates react with aldehydes at the less-substituted carbon (Scheme 74).[‌278‌]
