Reduction of dichlorobis(η5-cyclopentadienyl)titanium(IV) (78) with magnesium in the presence of diphenylacetylene[‌320‌] or (alkyl)(trimethylsilyl)acetylene[‌322‌,‌322‌] gives titanacyclopentadiene derivatives 132 and 191, respectively, in good yields (Scheme 95). The intermolecular coupling of benzyne and diphenylacetylene in the presence of 78 affords titanaindene 192 (Scheme 95).[‌320‌] Intramolecular reactions of enynes are also promoted by [Ti(Cp)2Cl2] (78) and magnesium (Scheme 95).[‌311‌,‌323‌]
