The treatment of alkynetitanocene complex 193 or 194 with ethene gives titanacyclopentene complex 195 (Scheme 98). Hydrolysis of this complex gives a μ-oxo complex.[‌325‌] [Ti(Cp)2(H2C=CH2)] complexes 196 react with methylenecyclopropanes to give bicyclic titanacycles 197 (Scheme 98).[‌326‌] Insertion of methylenecyclopropane[‌327‌] or norbornene derivatives[‌328‌] into alkynetitanium complex 198 affords bicyclic or tetracyclic titanacycles 199 (Scheme 98).
