Negishi, E.-i.; Takahashi, T.Science of Synthesis, (20032703.

In addition to the bis(η5-cyclopentadienyl)hydrido(silyl)zirconium complexes mentioned in Section 2.11.4.2, a limited number of other mono- and dimetallo-substituted zirconocene derivatives are known, such as those shown in Table 8.[‌114‌,‌116‌] All of the metal ligands shown in Table 8 contain group 14 metals, i.e. silicon, germanium, and tin, and all monometallo-substituted zirconocene derivatives have been synthesized by transmetalation. The only example of a bis(η5-cyclopentadienyl)dimetallozirconium derivative is bis{bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl]stannylene}bis(η5-methylcylopentadienyl)zirconium, prepared by the reaction of dibutylbis(η5-methylcylopentadienyl)zirconium with Lapperts stannylene {Sn[CH(TMS)2]2} which appears to involve oxidative addition.[‌115‌] At the time of writing, no application of these compounds to organic synthesis appears to have been reported.
