22.1.3.1.1 Method 1: Thioacylation of Alcohols

DOI: 10.1055/sos-SD-022-00101

Glass, R. S.Science of Synthesis, (20052285.

Although thioacyl halides react with alcohols to yield thiocarboxylic O-acid esters,[‌48‌] the instability and relative inaccessibility of these species render this method unattractive, with the exception of the use of thioaroyl chlorides.[‌3‌,‌4‌] Thioanhydrides also thioacylate alcohols.[‌1‌]
