The N-alkylation reaction of thioimidates (e.g., 74) with haloalkanes (Table 9)[121–124] is less common than the corresponding N-alkylation of imidates (see Section 22.4.1.1.2.4) due to the lesser synthetic utility of the resulting salts (e.g., 75).
