35.1.5.1.10 Method 10: Aminochlorination of Alkenes

DOI: 10.1055/sos-SD-035-00208

Göttlich, R.Science of Synthesis, (200735228.

β-Chlorinated amines are versatile and valuable compounds, but their efficient and economical generation from alkenes is still one of the challenges of organic synthesis. Unfortunately, the aminochlorinations summarized in this section do not provide a general solution to this problem as moderate yields are obtained or expensive reagents are used. The reactions are divided into intermolecular additions to alkenes and intramolecular additions (cyclizations); only a few contain illustrations of both reaction types.
