Very few examples are known for the formation of bromo alcohols 31 from epoxides 30 using tin(II) bromide.[7,43] In the examples shown in Scheme 13, the reaction conditions are mild and a variety of solvents can be used, but the reaction gives only moderate yields. No detailed experimental procedures are described in the literature.
