The synthesis of enantiomerically-enriched alcohols by the development of new methods for the asymmetric aryl-transfer reactions to aldehydes is an important area that has been reviewed.[‌338‌] The use of chiral ligands, e.g. 106111, in combination with an appropriate rhodium complex can lead to useful enantioselectivities in the addition of boronic acids to aldehydes (Scheme 61).
