When a stream of hydrogen sulfide is bubbled through a solution of an alkyl azide in either pyridine/water[96–98] or in dichloromethane containing an equimolar amount of triethylamine,[99] alkylamines are formed in good yields. Nevertheless, filtering off the water-insoluble sulfur can complicate the workup.
