Silylboron reagents with amino-substituted boron subunits (see Section 4.4.7.1.1.1.1) are susceptible to ligand exchange at the boron atom. Except for a few early reports covering transamination reactions,[‌31‌,‌32‌] mainly vicinal diols have been used for this transformation with the intention to obtain more stable pinacolborane-derived silylboron compounds (see Section 4.4.7.1.1.1.3). Silylborane 17 efficiently reacts with ethylene glycol or pinacol to yield 18 and 19, respectively (Scheme 14).[‌33‌,‌44‌,‌45‌]
