General Introduction
The direct hydrofunctionalization of unsaturated C—C bonds is an attractive route to introduce a heterofunctionality into the molecular skeleton. Thus the direct addition of an amine N—H or compounds having a P—H bond [i.e., by hydrophosphination (addition of a phosphine), hydrophosphinylation (addition of a dialkylphosphine oxide), or hydrophosphonylation (addition of a dialkyl phosphonate)] across an unsaturated C—C linkage represents an attractive and highly atom-economical access route to amines and phosphines in an intermolecular or intramolecular fashion (Scheme 1).
