Mase, N., Science of Synthesis: Water in Organic Synthesis, (2012) 1, 176.
Organocatalytic conjugate addition reaction of carbonyl compounds to various electron-deficient alkenes in the presence of variable amounts of water, from substoichiometric to a large excess, has seen recent advances. The main focus of this section is the application of this methodology to the synthesis of valuable compounds through organocatalytic enamine or iminium catalysis.[72]
