This approach can be extended to the palladium-catalyzed multicomponent synthesis of 3-methylene-substituted pyrrolidine derivatives by using propargylamines (Scheme 4).[‌21‌] The substrate scope is similar to that described for the tetrahydrofuran derivatives (see Section 2.6.2.1.1.1), and the reaction provides a concise synthesis of substituted pyrrolidines 3 from three building blocks. The use of allylamines allows the formation of 3-methylpyrrolidines 4 (Scheme 5).[‌22‌]
