There are isolated reports of the replacement of sulfur functional groups in tetrazoles to give the corresponding O-substituted and N-substituted derivatives.[‌1‌,‌227‌] It was found that 5-sulfonyl-substituted tetrazoles react with amines producing 5-unsubstituted tetrazoles.[‌236‌] Other transformations with 5-sulfur-substituted tetrazoles are discussed in Section 13.30.4.3.
