Zinc enolates are also known to undergo Claisen rearrangement. For example, the addition of α-halo allylic esters to suspensions of zinc dust in aromatic solvents such as benzene and toluene at temperatures around 80–140°C results in [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement to give γ,δ-unsaturated acids (Scheme 20).[54]
