Endocyclic 1,3-dienes, especially cyclohexa-1,3-dienes, have many chemical applications,[41] among which Diels–Alder reactions are widely used to produce a variety of polycyclic compounds.[3,4] Similarly, photochemical ring-opening reactions provide a diverse range of photoproducts.[42,43]
